A new wastewater treatment plant was needed to replace the existing facility, which had difficulty meeting effluent limits, and due to age was not economical to rebuild. The Enhanced Biological Nutrient Removal (EBNR) process utilized in the replacement facility is new technology designed to meet current standards and is adaptable for future standards. The project was awarded a $1.9 million USDA – Rural Development grant.
