The facility includes a 1,500 foot long grass-lined open channel, an approximately nine acre wetland/wet storm water detention pond and approximately 1,400 feet of 42 inch diameter outfall pipe to Turton Creek. The facility is designed to collect and treat storm water runoff from an approximately 262-acre watershed, which includes commercial and industrial property as well as agricultural land. In addition to providing hydraulic control of the 100-year storm event, the facility is designed to remove approximately 135 tons of sediment annually from the storm water, enhance wildlife habitat and upgrade the existing wetland.
